Every woman deserves to consider homebirth as an option. Eligibility is guided by your individual circumstances and your midwife’s experience and scope of practice. I’m happy to discuss what homebirth could mean for you and your family.
-
In the rare circumstance that we need to transfer to hospital either before or after baby is born, I accompany you and continue to support and advocate so your wishes remain central.

Research shows that planned homebirth with a qualified midwife is as safe for babies and mums with fewer interventions and high satisfaction. Your wellbeing and baby's are monitored through out your pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum.

My fee includes loan of a birth pool with a fresh liner, hose, and tap fittings. I’ll share a short list of other items to have ready, like towels, pads, and nappies. I also bring my own clinical equipment, including a Doppler, BP cuff, emergency medications, and oxygen — so everything we may need is close at hand.

Throughout your pregnancy we prepare using Calmbirth® principles, helping you understand that birth is a normal process your body is beautifully designed for. Many women find movement, water, and breathwork provide all they need, but if something more is required, we can transfer to hospital for pharmacological options.

Your partner/support person is central to your experience. We know from numerous studies if you are supported by someone who knows and loves you, your outcome parameters are improved in every circumstance. They have the ability to make your labour shorter and more comfortable or longer and less - but no pressure! I guide partners in offering practical and emotional support so you feel held and connected throughout labour and birth.

It’s best to book a Meet & Greet — in person or via Zoom — as soon as you know you’re pregnant. Homegrown Midwifery fills quickly, as I care for only a small number of families each month to ensure truly personalised support & highest quality of care. I’m happy to email you an outline of costs and estimated Medicare rebates. Private health insurance may also offer some cover depending on your fund.
